Akhanda 2 finally seals Netflix deal for this amount
Months ago, reports claimed that “Akhanda 2,” starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, had secured a record OTT deal with Netflix. Those reports were untrue. As Telugucinema.com recently reported, OTT platforms have halted their aggressive buying spree and begun renegotiating existing deals, significantly slashing their price quotes.
Facing mounting pressure, Telugu producers have now agreed to the revised terms. “Akhanda 2” has indeed closed its deal with Netflix, but not for a record price. While we won’t disclose the exact figure, it is very much a strong, not exceptional, acquisition.
The film will need to perform strongly in both Telugu and Hindi markets for the makers to gain the incentives tied to the agreement.
Meanwhile, the team is gearing up to release the second song, “Jajikaya Jajikaya.” The highlight? Balakrishna will be seen romancing actress Samyuktha. This duet is set to drop on November 18.
