Akhil Akkineni has been going through a challenging phase in his career, still in search of a major blockbuster that can firmly establish him as a leading star. His upcoming film “Lenin,” which was launched with much anticipation, also ran into multiple hurdles during production.
Directed by Murali Krishna Abburu, “Lenin” has seen several changes midway, including alterations in both cast and crew. The makers recently replaced the female lead, with Bhagyashri Borse stepping in after Sreeleela exited the project. Portions that were earlier shot with Sreeleela are now being re-filmed with the new actress.
Additionally, the film’s cinematographer has also been changed.
Despite these setbacks, the shooting of Lenin has now resumed. Sources say Akhil is viewing this film as a crucial restart to his career. He is reportedly playing a tough and challenging role and will be seen in a deglam avatar, signaling a clear departure from his earlier image.
“Lenin” is being jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments and Manam Productions.
