Amazon’s rule: Stars should promote the film

Each OTT player has different rules for acquiring a film’s rights and streaming them. Netflix forbids producers announcing the deal and doesn’t reveal the release date officially in advance until. 

Unlike Netflix, Amazon Prime Video demands the makers to promote the film aggressively. It also has put a rule that the lead actors and filmmakers should promote the film in media and social media in days leading to the streaming date. 

Nani has already begun promoting ‘V’ which is set to directly release on Amazon Prime Video on September 5. He is also giving interviews to mainstream media. The entire team of ‘V’ will now do promotions online.

‘V’ has Nani, Aditi Rao, Sudheer Babu, and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles. The film is directed by Indraganti Mohana Krishna and produced by Dil Raju. The action thriller was originally slated for release in theaters in March, but the coronavirus outbreak made the makers opt for direct digital release.
