Amrutham Dhvitheeyam announces lockdown special

ZEE5, India’s creator of Original content has always been at the forefront of presenting great content to the viewers across genres and languages. During the lockdown too, the streaming platform has been able to present fresh content to the audience and keeping in line with that, announces a ‘Lockdown Special’ of one of this most successful and loved Telugu Originals ‘Amrutham Dhvitheeyam’. Premieres 27th May on ZEE5.

This special edition was developed to entertain the audience during the lockdown and it was shot and conceptualized from each of the individual actors’ homes. It is a situational comedy of two episodes and people can immediately relate to the current scenario of lockdown troubles in a funny way.

ZEE5 is the first video streaming platform to host an online trailer launch for its South shows. Amrutham Dhvitheeyam Lockdown Special stars Harshavardhan, LB Srinivas, Sivannarayana, and Vasu Inturi. The actors, along with Director Sandeep got together to launch the trailer with media and fans via a video conference. They shared their unique shooting experiences at home as well as what they have been doing during the current lockdown.

Amrutham 1 was a popular Telugu TV sitcom in 2001, a huge hit, starring Sivaji Raja, Naresh, Harshavardhan, and Gundu Hanumatha Rao. Two friends, Amrutham and Anji, come up with creative ideas to improve their restaurant business and get rich but fail with hilarious consequences every single time. Sarvam, their loyal but loco man Friday and Appaji their rapacious landlord contributed famously to their comedy of errors and also became extremely popular characters.

6 Years after it began telecast as a weekly sitcom, Amrutham ended its run on Television. Now after 13 years, the show is back as Amrutham Dhvitheeyam. It premiered exclusively on ZEE5 on 27th March, produced by  Ganga Raju Gunnam.
