ANR Classics: Free screenings on his 101st birth anniversary

To mark the 101st birth anniversary of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), two of his timeless classics are set to return to the big screen. The films are Dr. Chakravarthy and Premabhishekam.

In a special tribute, the screenings will be free of cost in select theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The re-release begins on September 20, 2025, giving fans, families, and especially senior citizens who grew up watching ANR’s unforgettable performances, an opportunity to relive his magic in cinemas once again.

Reservations for the free shows opened on BookMyShow from September 18, 2025.

Screenings will take place in key cities such as Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag, and Ongole, with more centres expected to join. Theatres include popular venues like Kranthi Theatre (Vizag), Swarna Palace (Vijayawada), Krishna Talkies (Ongole), and a select Hyderabad cinema.
