Tollywood’s business is growing. From the last seven months, Tollywood witnessed amazing growth in revenue. In the New Year too, same is getting repeated. Especially Sankranthi 2016 has become very bountiful one for the industry as the first week collections of all four movies released for Pongal are about Rs 85 Cr (Share). This is biggest ever 1st week figures for Telugu movies in a single week.
When four films – Nannaku Prematho, Dictator, Express Raja and Soggade Chinni Nayana – announced their plans to compete with each other, many in the industry feared that it would turn out to be disastrous but the results allayed all the fears.
While two movies in particular – Soggade Chinni Nayana and Express Raja are near to reap in profits by end of the first week, Nannaku Prematho and Dictator are heading towards break-even. All in all, four movies have brought in Rs 85 Cr of share in the first week.
