“Chikiri Chikiri,” the first single from “Peddi” has become a global phenomenon on social media. Ever since its release, the track has been on a record-breaking spree, emerging as one of the most explosive song debuts for an Indian film in recent times.
Composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, the song blends earthy folk energy with a grand cinematic sound, striking a chord far beyond linguistic and cultural borders. It has now crossed a remarkable 100 million cumulative views across all languages.
The Telugu version leads the wave with nearly 64 million views and close to 1 million likes. The Hindi version has garnered 25 million views, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam collectively contribute another 10 million, sealing the song’s pan-India impact.
A major driving force behind the craze is Rahman’s catchy tune and Ram Charan’s dance. Fans are flooding social platforms with dance reels, edits, and tributes inspired by the track.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, “Peddi” has Janhvi Kapoor playing the female lead. She also appears in this song. The film is set for release in March 2026.
