On Independence Day, four films hit the screens, and among them, “Double iSmart” and “Mr. Bachchan” are the big films. As expected, both films took strong openings in all areas.
The number-one spot went to “Double iSmart.” The film collected about Rs 8 crore in India on its first day. Overall, the worldwide gross for the film is about Rs 11 to 12 crore. This is an impressive number, as competition is high.
On the other hand, the first-day collections for “Mr. Bachchan” are around Rs 5 crore in India and Rs 7 crore (gross) worldwide.
Ravi Teja’s film premiered on the 14th night in many centers. Paid previews brought in a substantial amount of revenue, but the paid previews had a negative impact on the collections on Day 1.
We have to see how these films fare during this long weekend.
