Top producer-distributor Dil Raju and his partner Shirish appear to be on a strategic buying spree. After facing stiff competition in recent times, their banner SVC Distribution has begun aggressively acquiring theatrical rights of notable upcoming films.
SVC has already secured the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rights of “Toxic,” starring Yash, for a substantial price. The pan-Indian action drama is slated for release on March 19 and is expected to be one of their biggest distribution ventures this year.
The duo has also bagged the Telugu states’ theatrical rights of Sharwanand’s racing-based emotional drama “Biker.” Reportedly acquired for Rs 23 crore, the film is carrying positive buzz ahead of its April 3 release.
In addition, SVC has picked up the rights of the comedy entertainer “GaayaPadda Simham (GPS),” starring Tharun Bhascker, for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
With a mix of a pan-Indian biggie, a mid-range Telugu film, and a youthful comedy, Dil Raju and Shirish are clearly diversifying their distribution slate for the upcoming season.
