Director Prasanth Varma rose to nationwide prominence with the blockbuster success of “HanuMan.” After that film’s massive run, he announced an ambitious lineup of projects. However, some of those ventures reportedly failed to materialize, leading to speculation in trade circles.
Among the projects that did not take off were a film touted as the launchpad for Mokshagna Nandamuri, a proposed venture with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, and another film with a mid-range Telugu actor.
Recently, rumours began circulating that his proposed mythological film “Baka” with Prabhas had also been put on hold. The project is said to be a high-concept mythological drama, and reports suggested that a test shoot had taken place a few months ago.
However, Prasanth Varma’s team has now denied the speculation.
In an clarification, the team stated: “Contrary to speculation, the film is very much on track and progressing as planned. The project will officially go on floors once Prabhas wraps up his ongoing commitments. An official announcement regarding timelines will be made at the right time.”
With this statement, the makers have attempted to put an end to rumours surrounding the status of “Baka.”
