Streaming companies are still offering tempting quotations to secure the digital rights of ‘V’. But Dil Raju had declined to take up them for various reasons. Being a leading producer and distributor, he is facing pressure from theater owners not to go for direct digital release. So he didn’t take up them and rejected the offers from Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
Nani and Sudheer Babu starrer ‘V’, which was to release on May 25, has now got a fresh offer from another streaming company. This new deal is also very exciting. But Dil Raju wants to wait until August to take a final call. From August, theaters are likely to be reopened if the corona crisis comes under control.
Whether ‘V’ hits the OTT platform or move theaters depends on the date of resumption of theater operations. If it gets delayed further, he will have to take a final call in July.
The film is directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna who wants the film to release in theaters only.
