Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri begin the ‘Kaantha’ shoot

Dulquer Salmaan, one of the most popular Malayalam young actors, has been doing Telugu and pan-Indian projects. He has now joined hands with Rana Daggubati for “Kaantha,” a period drama.

Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films are bankrolling this film. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani in the lead roles.

The filming began today.

Set in the backdrop of 1950s Madras, “Kaantha” explores the complexities of human relationships and societal change during a dynamic period in history.

Dulquer Salmaan expressed his excitement about starting this journey with Spirit Media and tackling Kaantha. This is a beautifully layered story that captures the depths of human emotions and gives an actor a lot of scope to perform, he added.

“Kaantha” has cinematography handled by Dani Sanchez Lopez, while Jhanu provides the music.
