ETV to shelve Padutha Theeyaga program?

Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s death has left a void in the Telugu movie industry as well as in the TV industry. No one can replace his place, none can match his talents – be it singing or hosting a reality show.

The veteran singer was also famous for his anchoring skills of the hugely popular TV show, “Padutha Theeyaga”, the singing reality show.
Until he had contracted COVID19 positive in August this year, he shot for the show’s programs. Now, who will replace his position? Will the show continue with another singer?

Buzz is that ETV channel owner Ramoji Rao is thinking of discontinuing the show altogether. SP Balu had been attached to the show since its inception. Or, the show will be reformatted with another name.

However, since “Padutha Theeyaga” is a flagship program of the channel, would the marketing and advertisement team agree to Ramoji Rao’s proposal? We have to wait and see.
