Exclusive: Shruti Haasan signs Vakeel Saab

The suspense has ended. Many speculations about the female lead of ‘Vakeel Saab’ opposite Pawan Kalyan have been doing the rounds. Names like Lavanya Tripathi, Ileana, and Pooja Hegde popped up but it is finally Shruti Haasan who has secured the project. She has given her official agreement to the film. 

‘Vakeel Saab’ will resume its new schedule once the clarity comes about the movie shootings as all the Telugu films have stopped their shootings due to the corona outbreak. 

This will be the third film for Shruti Haasan opposite Pawan Kalyan after blockbuster ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Katamarayudu’. She is currently shooting for Ravi Teja’s ‘Krack’.

‘Vakeel Saab’, a remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Pink’, has Pawan Kalyan playing a lawyer’s role who takes up a case involving three girls – Nivetha Thomas, Anjali and Ananya Nagalla. Shruti Haasan will play his love interest in the movie.

Directed by Venu Sriram, the film is being produced by Dil Raju and Sirish on Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner. Thaman is scoring the music. The release date will be announced shortly.
