Acclaimed Malayalam film editor Shameer Muhammed, in a recent interview, opened up about the difficult experience he had while working on “Game Changer,” the Ram Charan starrer directed by Shankar. He revealed that the experience was so unpleasant that he ultimately walked away from the project.
“Game Changer,” which released on January 10, turned out to be a box-office disaster.
The film was widely criticized for its lack of coherence and dull narrative, with not a single scene standing out for its originality.
Shameer revealed that the raw footage submitted by Shankar ran over 7.5 hours, and the director asked him to trim and shape it into a proper film. “I cut it down to three hours of runtime, but I eventually quit. Working with Shankar sir was a horrible experience,” he said bluntly.
It appears the core issue was the lack of a bound script. Earlier, writer Karthik Subbaraj also stated that his original storyline was altered by multiple writers brought in by Shankar, further adding to the confusion surrounding the project.
