Tottempudi Gopichand, an actor in his 40s, is fitter than he was in his 30s. He has maintained a healthy physique and greatly improved his fashion sense and style. While he chooses trendy clothes for his films, he does not choose trendy stories.
The scripts for Gopichand’s recent films were full of archaic ideas and clichéd sequences. No surprise that those options were rejected by audiences. He had a big flop with ‘Pakka Commercial’ last year. Despite this, he has not learned. His latest film, “Ramabanam,” bombed like anything.
“Ramabanam” only made about Rs 3 crore (share) in its first weekend, demonstrating that audiences are not showing interest to such films.
As an actor, Gopichand must reinvent himself. He should avoid directors who come up with formulaic ideas. He must be current in his story selection.
