Allu Arjun won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in “Pushpa.” Draupadi Murmu, President of India, presented the award to Allu Arjun at a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Later, Allu Arjun took to social media to thank the jury and the government for the award.
“Honoured to receive the National Award. I want to thank the jury, the ministry, the Government of India, for this recognition. This award is not only a personal milestone, but belongs to all people who have supported and cherished our cinema,” he wrote.
He also thanked Sukumar and stated that he was the reason for this achievement. “Thank you, Sukumar garu. You are the reason behind my achievement,” he posted.
“Pushpa,” the first part of a two-parter directed by Sukumar, helped him win the National Award as well as gain a pan-Indian market. The second instalment, titled “Pushpa 2,” is currently in production.
