The Telangana High Court today dismissed a plea against the release of “Lakshmi’s NTR” observing that it would not interfere in freedom of expression. The plea has said that the film’s release would lead to law and order problem as it is distorting the life story of Late NT Rama Rao. Court maintained that the Telangana police are capable of maintaining law and order and it further directed the police to take necessary measures when the film gets released.
Court is inclined to entertain such petitions saying no one has right to obstruct freedom of expression.
Though the court has dismissed the plea, the movie needs to get censor certification for the movie’s release. Ram Gopal Varma, on the other hand, has stated that his film would hit the screens on March 29.
“Lakshmi’s NTR”, is a film focussed on the twilight years of late NT Rama Rao when Lakshmi Parvathi came into his life. The film has been in the news from long time.
