“Good Bad Ugly,” featuring Ajith Kumar, was released in theaters last week. While the film received a lukewarm response in Telugu states, the Tamil version became a huge hit in Tamilnadu.

One of the highlights of the film was, besides Ajith Kumar’s vintage style and swag, the usage of old songs, most of them composed by legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja.

Now, Ilaiyaraaja has issued a legal notice demanding Rs 5 crore for unauthorized usage of his compositions from the makers of “Good Bad Ugly.”

The composer also insisted that the film’s team issue a formal apology within seven days. According to the notice, the songs in question include “Otharoova” and others.

Ilaiyaraaja, who is known to be strict about the use of his intellectual property, claims the filmmakers did not seek his consent before incorporating the songs into the film.

However, the ‘Good Bad Ugly’ team have countered the allegations, stating that they have secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the music label that holds the rights to these songs.

“Good Bad Ugly” was produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
