Ilaiyaraja awarded Padma Vibhushan

Music maestro Ilaiyaraja will be honored with Padma Vibushan, India’s second highest civilian award. On the eve of the 69th Republic Day, Padma awards were announced by Indian government. Ilaiyaraja is one of all-time greatest Indian film composers. He is the only music composer in India who scored for more than 1000 movies. Ilaiyaraja later thanked the PM Modi.

“The award shows that Modi government respects Tamil Nadu and Tamil people a lot.” This year not many film personalities got Padma Awards.
