Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay has announced that his upcoming film “Jana Nayagan” will mark his final outing as an actor before he steps into full-time politics.
Ever since promotional material from the film surfaced, sharp-eyed viewers have been quick to notice striking similarities with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s blockbuster “Bhagavanth Kesari.”
The resemblance has sparked widespread speculation that Jana Nayagan is a frame-to-frame remake of the Telugu hit. However, director H Vinoth has chosen not to confirm the remake claims. Responding to the buzz, Vinoth maintained that audiences should wait until the film’s theatrical release on January 9, 2026.
The director added that he cannot comment on whether the film is a remake, stating that Jana Nayagan should simply be viewed as “a Vijay film.”
Despite the guarded responses from the makers, the similarities seen in the promos have only intensified the remake debate among fans and trade circles.
