Thaman gained huge craze as a music director after delivering blockbusters such as “Ala Vaikunthapurramllo”, “Vakeel Saab”, “Krack”, “Akhanda”, and “Bheemla Nayak”. He also received a National Award for Best Music Director for his work on “Ala Vaikunthapurramllo” songs.
No wonder that he landed almost all big-budget films, including Shankar’s “Game Changer.” Shankar, who had previously collaborated with musicians such as AR Rahman and Harris Jayaraj, enlisted Thaman for his film, establishing the craze that the music director was experiencing at the time of signing.
However, Thaman’s songs are no longer adding any value to the film. His music albums have recently failed to become the strength for a film.
The lack of a viral or super hit song is one of the reasons why Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Bhagavanth Kesari” did not have a massive opening unlike “Akhanda” or “Veera Simha Reddy”. Thaman’s music lacked the quality that would compel audiences to watch that song on screen. The same was true for Pawan Kalyan’s “Bro” and Ram Pothineni’s “Skanda”.
Is he stuck or is he focusing solely on Trivikram’s “Guntur Kaaram” and “Game Changer”? He should bounce back with these two projects.
