After attending the Cannes Film Festival for her international project “Homebound,” Janhvi Kapoor returned to Mumbai last week and quickly got involved in promoting her upcoming Hindi release “Param Sundari.” Now, she’s back in Hyderabad to resume shooting for “Peddi.”
“Peddi” is a much-anticipated pan-Indian sports drama starring Ram Charan in the lead. Directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, the film is set in a rural backdrop and revolves around themes of grit, ambition, and emotional resilience. Janhvi Kapoor plays a traditional village belle, paired opposite Ram Charan for the first time.
The film marks her second Telugu venture after her debut in “Devara.”
Ram Charan reportedly plays a rugged character with a layered emotional arc, and the film focuses on cricket and other sports.
“Peddi” is being produced on a grand scale by Vriddhi Cinemas and Sukumar Writings in association with Mythri Movie Makers. With music composed by the Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman, the film is already generating significant buzz.
