In recent years, several filmmakers have chosen to split their Prabhas-starrers into multiple parts for business prospects. However, the promised sequels often remain stuck in development despite the first installments turning into box office hits. We earlier reported how many such part two projects in Tollywood have been stalled, and now “Kalki 2” seems to be heading in the same direction.
While “Salaar 2” has already hit a roadblock, “Kalki 2” is facing a similar fate. Prabhas is currently occupied with completing “The Raja Saab” and “Fauji,” after which he is committed to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. With his calendar packed, director Nag Ashwin appears to have decided to take up another project before returning to the Kalki sequel.
Buzz suggests that Ashwin recently met superstar Rajinikanth and narrated a story, which reportedly excited the veteran star. Whether this collaboration materializes remains to be seen.
For now, the second part of his blockbuster “Kalki 2898 AD” is not moving forward. Ashwin, who has delivered acclaimed films like Yevade Subramanyam, Mahanati, and the futuristic spectacle Kalki 2898 AD, seems to be weighing his next “super” option carefully.
