Allari Naresh leads the upcoming thriller “12A Railway Colony,” with Kamakshi Bhaskarla starring as the female lead. The film hits screens on November 21. Ahead of the release, Kamakshi opened up about her role, her collaboration with director Dr. Anil Viswanath, and her evolving approach as an actor.
On appearing in every film made by Dr. Anil Viswanath
“Our journey began with Polimera. I enjoy writing as much as acting, so during that film, I requested Anil garu to let me work in the direction department as well. That’s how our collaboration deepened, and I’ve been a part of every project he’s taken up since.”
About her character
“I play Aaradhana, paired opposite Naresh garu. Her background and her profession add an intriguing dimension to the story. She’s someone completely devoted to her work, and how love enters her life makes for an engaging narrative turn. Aaradhana is central to the film, without her, the story wouldn’t exist. I’m sure the audience will remember her. Acting alongside Allari Naresh garu is definitely a big plus for my career. This is a gripping thriller that keeps the audience guessing at every moment.”
On her career choices
“Before this film, I played a strong role in Vishwaksen’s Laila. I will also be seen in Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit. Some may wonder why I play a heroine in one film and a crucial supporting role in another, but for me, it’s always about what the story demands.
Actors like Vijay Sethupathi take up all kinds of roles, but female actors don’t always get that acceptance. Why shouldn’t it be the same for us? I want to break that. I see it as a challenge and gravitate toward roles that come with risk. In my five-year journey, films like Virupaksha and Polimera have given me tremendous recognition.”
