Weekend Box Office: Chennai Love Story earns Rs 24 Crore worldwide

Kiran Abbavaram’s “Chennai Love Story” has emerged as a strong box-office performer, collecting nearly Rs 24 crore gross worldwide in its opening weekend. The romantic drama has registered the biggest three-day opening of Kiran Abbavaram’s career.

Starring Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya, the film follows a heartfelt love story that takes an unexpected turn at the interval, a twist that has become one of its major talking points.

The film witnessed excellent growth on Sunday, recording its highest single-day collections in the Telugu states. Its domestic gross has reached around Rs 19 crore in three days, while the overseas market has contributed nearly Rs 5 crore, taking the worldwide total close to Rs 24 crore.

In North America alone, the film has grossed around $400k.

Directed by Ravi Namburi and produced by SKN and Sai Rajesh, the film features music by Mani Sharma. Kiran Abbavaram’s subtle performance and Sri Gouri Priya’s impressive portrayal have received praise from audiences and critics alike.

Although the film’s second half has drawn some criticism, the strong word of mouth among youth audiences has helped maintain its momentum at the box office.

With no major Telugu releases expected over the next two weeks, “Chennai Love Story” is well-positioned to sustain its run.
