Mahesh Babu leaves for solo trip as Varanasi schedule wraps

Superstar Mahesh Babu is well known for his love of travel. He frequently heads abroad for multiple vacations each year and never misses a long summer break overseas. Now, as the team of “Varanasi,” directed by S. S. Rajamouli, has wrapped its latest shooting schedule in Hyderabad, Mahesh Babu has set off on his summer vacation.

On Monday morning, he was spotted at Hyderabad airport, leaving for a foreign trip. It looks like a small break because no family member was seen leaving with him.

It is reported that the entire “Varanasi” team is taking a month-long break from filming. Actress Priyanka Chopra had already shared pictures of her departure to Los Angeles a day earlier.

At the start of the film, Rajamouli had humorously posted an image of himself “confiscating” Mahesh Babu’s passport to ensure his full focus on the shoot. Mahesh Babu responded on Instagram, saying, “a promise is a promise,” and that he would stick to it.

Now, however, Rajamouli appears to be taking a more relaxed approach to the schedule, giving Mahesh Babu time to continue his travel plans.

“Varanasi” is expected to complete filming in the next three months, after which post-production will begin. The globe-trotting adventure drama is slated for release on April 7, 2027.
