Music legend Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna (86), who was known as one of the legends in classical Carnatic music in India, is no more. The Padma Vibushan Awardee died today at his residence in Chennai. He was known for classical musical concerts. He was vocalist and also composer. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by Government of India and was made Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government.
He also sang for movies and some of his songs are quite popular. “Salalitha Raga Sudharasa Saaram” in ‘Narthanasala’, “Paluke Banagamayera Andala Rama” in ‘Andala Ramudu’, “Mauname Nee Bhasha O Mooga Manasa” in “Guppedu Manasu” are most notable songs he rendered in Telugu cinema.
