Nandamuri Balakrishna announces ‘Aditya 999 Max’

“Aditya 369” is one of the most successful films in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s career. It was also the first sci-fi film in Telugu cinema. The 1991 sci-fi drama, directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, will soon be having a sequel.

Balakrishna confirmed a sequel to “Aditya 369” during the sixth episode of Unstoppable with NBK (Season 4).

The sequel, named Aditya 999 Max, is under development and also deals with the time-travel theme.

Nandamuri Mokshagnya, the son of Balakrishna, will assume the main lead role in “Aditya 999 Max.” Currently, Mokshagnya is preparing to debut in director Prashant Varma’s film.

There are also speculations that Nandamuri Balakrishna himself might direct this sequel, besides playing one of the roles. The “Aditya 369” had music by Ilaiyaraaja. The film gained a cult following over the years, and it also inspired director Nag Ashwin to make “Kalki 2898 AD.”
