Nandamuri Balakrishna is reportedly targeting a December release for his ongoing film, tentatively titled “NBK111”, directed by Gopichand Malineni.
Balakrishna scored a blockbuster with “Akhanda”, which was released in December. Hoping to recreate that success, the makers also released “Akhanda 2” during the same season. However, the sequel failed to meet expectations at the box office.
Despite that setback, the team behind “NBK111” is said to be keen on a December release rather than entering the highly competitive Sankranthi race. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, the film stars Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead and is currently under production.
The biggest hurdle, however, is Prabhas’s “Fauji.” If the much-awaited period drama arrives as planned in the first week of December, “NBK111” may have to rethink its release strategy. But if “Fauji” gets postponed, Balakrishna’s film is likely to grab that coveted December window.
