This is a huge honor for senior actor and popular star Nandamuri Balakrishna. The government of India today announced the Padma Bhushan, the nation’s third highest civilian award, to Balakrishna in the category of art.

Balakrishna is a veteran in the field of acting with 50 years of an acting career and has acted in 109 films so far. He has also been involved in charity, particularly running Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital with so much dedication and compassion.

Balakrishna, the son of NT Rama Rao, began his acting career at a young age. He debuted as a child artist in “Tatamma Kala” in 1974 before becoming a lead actor in 1984.

In his long career, he has part of many record-breaking films, including Mangammagari Manavadu (1984), Muddula Mavayya (1989), Nari Nari Naduma Murari (1990), Lorry Driver (1990), Aditya 369 (1991), Rowdy Inspector (1992), Bangaru Bullodu (1993), Bhairava Dweepam (1994), Peddannayya (1997), Samarasimha Reddy (1999), Narasimha Naidu (2001), Lakshmi Narasimha (2004), Simha (2010), Legend (2014), and Akhanda (2021).

His 109th picture, “Daaku Maharaj,” is currently in theaters, while his 110th, “Akhanda 2,” is in production.

Balakrishna tried with several genres. He has portrayed historical, mythological, and biographical characters. He even portrayed his father, NT Rama Rao, in the films “NTR Kathanayakudu” and “NTR Mahanayakudu.”

Balakrishna stepped into electoral politics in 2014 and has become MLA for third time from Hindupur constituency.
