Pawan Kalyan, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, urged youngsters not to take films too seriously or devote their lives to movie stars.
“As an actor, I am saying this — nobody should take movies seriously. Cinema is entertainment. It is a part of our lives, not life itself. Young people should take inspiration from great personalities like Abdul Kalam,” he advised.
Speaking at a teachers–parents meeting, he highlighted the importance of knowledge and strong education system like in Kerala. With youth treating movie stars as real-life heroes and spending excessive time and money on fan culture, the celebrity worship in Andhra Pradesh has gone beyond limits.
He appealed to youngsters to channel their energy into meaningful goals, while enjoying movies as just one aspect of everyday life.
