Pawan Kalyan on the rise of nationalistic films

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan recently appeared on a podcast hosted by ANI’s Smita Prakash, where he spoke about governance, ideology, and a range of political issues.

During the conversation, Pawan Kalyan shared his views on the growing popularity of nationalistic films in Indian cinema. When asked about the trend, he said that Aditya Dhar’s “Dhurandhar” is among his favorite recent films. He also mentioned another film, saying, “I also liked another film called ‘Baramulla’.”

The interview touched upon his ideological evolution over the years. Pawan Kalyan recalled that he was once influenced by leftist thought. He spoke about a phase in his life when he was attracted to Naxalite ideology before eventually entering active politics and founding the Jana Sena Party.

Today, as a key ally of the NDA, Pawan Kalyan’s political positions differ significantly from the views he expressed in his earlier years.

Critics argue that Pawan Kalyan invokes names, icons, and ideologies depending on what suits the political moment, frequently shifting his stance to align with changing circumstances.
