Pawan Kalyan, actor-turned-politician and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, underwent surgery on Saturday evening, his team confirmed in an official statement.
According to the release, the Jana Sena Party chief had been dealing with persistent health issues for the past few months. His condition reportedly worsened on Friday morning while he was in discussions with officials regarding administrative matters.
Following medical advice, Pawan Kalyan cancelled his scheduled engagements and was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad, where doctors conducted a series of tests, including an MRI scan. After reviewing the reports, medical experts recommended immediate surgical intervention.
The surgery was successfully completed, and doctors have advised him to take rest for 7–10 days before resuming official duties. However, they emphasized that full recovery may take longer, requiring continued precautions.
The statement noted that while Pawan Kalyan is expected to return to work soon, his health will need careful monitoring in the coming weeks.
Interestingly, the team did not disclose details about the nature of the surgery or the specific ailment.
Despite ongoing health concerns, Pawan Kalyan has maintained a demanding schedule balancing politics and cinema. His recent film “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” released earlier this year and is currently streaming on Netflix.
