PM asks Pawan, ‘Are you leaving for the Himalayas?’

Pawan Kalyan, the actor-turned-politician, has recently begun wearing solely saffron or yellow garments, which are typically worn by monks, Hindu sages who have given up everything in life. Despite his position as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan has mostly advocated for Hindu Sanatan Dharma and led pilgrimage tours in recent times.

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi saw Pawan Kalyan in this attire, he cracked a joke with him, asking whether he was going to take up sanyas (renunciation of worldly life in favor of asceticism).

This occurred during Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s swearing-in on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Pawan Kalyan and posed this question.

This was revealed by Pawan Kalyan himself during a media interaction.

“The prime minister always cracks jokes with me. Today, he looked at my outfit and asked if I was leaving everything and going to the Himalayas,” Pawan Kalyan explained.
