The Prabhas-starrer ‘Adipurush’ is causing quite a stir on social media. The film has a lot of buzz about it. The recently released trailer was favorably received by fans and moviegoers alike.
In this context, actress Kasthuri Shankar’s assessment of the film did not sit well with Prabhas’s fans. She pointed out that there is no precedent in our previous films of Lord Ram sporting a moustache. Even NT Ramarao, who played God in many mythical films, never wore a moustache.
Kasthuri also remarked that Prabhas resembles Karna from Mahabharat rather than Lord Ram.
She tweeted, “Is there ANY tradition where Lord Ramji and Laxman are portrayed with moustache and facial hair? Why this disturbing departure ? Especially in prabhas’s telugu home, Sri Rama has been played to perfection by legends.”
Prabhas’ followers, meanwhile, were critical of Kasthuri. They emphasize that “Adipurush” depicts Lord Ram as a warrior. The film is Om Raut’s re-imagining of the Ramayana. Before commenting, they want her to learn more about the film.
