K Vasu, the director of ‘Pranam Khareedu,’ ‘Sri Shirdi Saibaba Mahathyam,’ ‘America Alludu,’ and ‘Kotala Raydu,’ died on Friday. He breathed his last while receiving treatment for age-related ailments in a hospital in Hyderabad.
His father, Pratyagatma, and uncle, K Hembandhara Rao, were both well-known directors. He made his directorial debut with “Aadapillala Tandri” in 1974.
In “Pranam Khareedu,” he introduced megastar Chiranjeevi as an actor.
Other popular films by K Vasu include “Kotala Rayudu,” “Kottha Dampathulu,” and “Allullostunnaru.” Chiranjeevi expressed sadness over K Vasu’s death. He stated that K Vasu directed some of his early films, including “Pranam Khareedu” and “Kotala Rayudu.”
Pawan Kalyan also paid his respects to the director.
