Prashanth Neel has quickly emerged as one of the top filmmakers in Indian cinema. After making his directorial debut with the Kannada film “Ugramm,” he shot to nationwide fame with the blockbuster “KGF” franchise.
The success of “Salaar” further strengthened his position in Telugu cinema. He is currently directing NTR’s “Dragon,” whose recently released glimpse generated massive buzz online. While the teaser received a strong response, some critics pointed out that Neel continues to follow his familiar template of dark visuals, gangster-driven storytelling, period-style narration, and layered character introductions.
The storytelling style seen in “KGF” and “Salaar” is also visible in “Dragon,” making it a recognizable signature of the director.
However, in a recent interview, Prashanth Neel revealed that he wants to break away from this predictable pattern in the future. He shared that he is planning a mythological film set in a vibrant and colorful world, calling it his dream project.
Before taking up the mythology venture, though, Neel is expected to complete “Salaar 2” with Prabhas.
