SS Rajamouli, who rose to fame with “RRR,” globally has begun pre-production on his next film, which will star Mahesh Babu. The untitled film, codenamed #SSMB29, is expected to begin production in early 2024.
The film is scheduled to be released in late 2025. On the other hand, Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, revealed that work on “Mahabharat” will begin as soon as #SSMB29 concludes. Vijayendra Prasad wrote scripts for his son Rajamouli’s directorial efforts including “Baahubali” and “RRR.”
Rajamouli’s dream project has been the film adaptation of India’s greatest epic, “Mahabharat.” He intends to cast top actors from all languages in this epic film, which will be told in three or four parts. This project alone will take up over five years of his time.
So Rajamouli will spend the next eight years working on these two films.
Rajamouli has received some exciting offers from Hollywood production companies and studios, but he will not accept them until Mahesh Babu’s film is completed. He may work on “Mahabharat” with a major Hollywood studio.
