Top filmmaker Rajamouli cracked the Hindi market with his ‘Baahubali’ movies and became a nationwide phenomenon. The second part of ‘Baahubali’ broke all records in India by collecting Rs 41 crores on the first day for its Hindi version.
No one expected ‘RRR’ would break this record, but trade pundits were curious to see whether it would collect as much as Prabha’s ‘Saaho’ did (Rs 25 crore on the first day). According to a couple of Bollywood websites, ‘RRR’ has collected in the range of Rs 19 crore nett for the Hindi version. However, reliable sources inform us that the actual number would be a lot less than this. Rs 19 Cr nett that being projected is just a hyped figure.
All in all, Rajamouli’s mega epic drama took one of the best openings in the Hindi market post-pandemic, but it could not come anywhere close to ‘Saaho’.
If the film picks up on Saturday and Sunday, ‘RRR’ might post very impressive numbers by the end of the first weekend. If word-of-mouth helps, it might see a big jump in the collections.
