Samantha’s ‘Subham’ changes its OTT deal

Samantha co-produced “Subham,” a social satire with a ghost comedy angle. The film featured mostly upcoming talent in lead roles, with Samantha making a cameo appearance. It was recently released in theaters and received a mixed response.

Being a top actress and a hugely popular pan-Indian celebrity, Samantha commands significant influence. So it’s no surprise she managed to strike a deal for both OTT and satellite rights with the Zee Telugu group. She sold the rights as a bouquet to Zee even before the film’s release.

However, reports say that Zee asked for a price reduction post-release. Irritated by this, Samantha reportedly cancelled the deal and began negotiations with Jio Hotstar instead.

Either way, Samantha managed to secure new deals without much hassle.
