Senior actress Tulasi bids goodbye to acting

Veteran actress Tulasi has announced her retirement from films. She revealed that she will quit acting after December 31 and devote herself completely to the spiritual path.

Tulasi said she intends to dedicate her life to Shirdi Sai Baba. Sharing a note, she wrote: “In continuation of my Shirdi darshan this December 31, I wish myself a happy retirement. I will continue my journey in peace with Sainadha. Thank you all for helping me learn life. Sairam.”

Tulasi began her acting journey at a very young age as a child artiste. Her most memorable role as a child actor was in K. Viswanath’s classic Sankarabharanam (1979). She transitioned to lead roles in the early ’80s and featured as the heroine in several Telugu films, including Nelavanka, Nalugu Stambhalata, and Disco King.

She made a strong comeback in the 2000s, taking up supporting roles. In recent years, she delivered notable performances in films such as Sasirekha Parinayam, Mr. Perfect, Darling, Srimanthudu, Mahanati, Karthikeya 2, and Dhamaka.
