Shaakuntalam, the mythological fantasy drama directed by Gunasekhar, has a new release date. The film was multiple times postponed. After much deliberation, the makers decided on April 14, 2023 as the new release date.
It will benefit from summer vacations and will have an added advantage in Tamilnadu due to the Tamil New Year on April 14. The movie will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Samantha plays the lead in ‘Shaakuntalam. The plot is based on Mahakavi Kalidasu’s play, Abhignana Shaakuntalam, which tells the story of prince Dushyanth and Shakuntala, the daughter of a sage. This is a subplot in the epic poem “Mahabharat.”
Dushyanth is played by Dev Mohan. Dil Raju is the film’s presenter.
