Shiva, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead, was a landmark film that transformed Telugu cinema. It redefined storytelling and filmmaking styles while setting new technical benchmarks for the industry.
Produced by Akkineni Venkat and Surendra Yarlagadda under the Annapurna Studios banner, the 1989 classic also marked the directorial debut of Ram Gopal Varma.
Now, the cult film is returning to theatres in a 4K remastered version with Dolby Atmos sound. Nagarjuna Akkineni officially announced that the film will hit screens again on 14th November, 2025.
Speaking about the re-release, Nagarjuna said, “My father always believed cinema had the power to live beyond generations, and Shiva was one such film. Bringing it back to the big screen on 14th November in a completely new avatar of 4K Dolby Atmos is a tribute to his dream of keeping stories alive forever.”
