Shraddha Kapoor: Delighted to recreate Sridevi’s role

‘Nagina’ was a turning point in late Sridevi’s acting career in Bollywood. Released in1986, the fantasy film was a sensational hit, and her acting in the film was considered as one of the best performances in her career. The film’s sequel, however, didn’t succeed at the box-office.

25 years later, the film is getting a reboot in Bollywood. ‘Saaho’ fame Shraddha Kapoor to play the new age Nagina. The new franchise was announced today and it will be produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and directed by Vishal Furia.

Thrilled to play Sridevi’s role, Shraddha Kapoor said she always wanted to do a similar role. “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore,” she tweeted.

Shraddha Kapoor is a leading Bollywood actress. She debuted in Tollywood opposite Prabhas in ‘Saaho’. She has not signed any Telugu film after the release of ‘Saaho’.
