Samantha was previously cast as the lead in a film about a female detective. Back then, producers revealed that Smantha would star in Chennai Story, helmed by Philip John of ‘Downton Abbey’ fame.
The movie is based on the novel “The Arrangements of Love.” Samantha has now withdrawn from this project. Shruti Haasan took her place.
The film titled “Chennai Story”, starring Shruti and Viveik Kalra, will start soon. It is a romantic comedy set in Wales and India. Shruti will play Anu, a private detective.
Shruti Haasan recently achieved success with “Salaar: Ceasefire”. She is also appearing as the female lead opposite Adivi Sesh in the thriller “Dacoit”.
