Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga are gearing up for their ambitious project “Spirit.” The film has not yet been formally launched, and the shooting date is still under wraps.
However, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is attempting something unconventional. Instead of waiting for the shoot and final edit, he has recorded the background score in advance, working closely with music composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar, who also scored “Animal.”
Traditionally, background music is composed after the visuals are locked. Vanga has flipped the process. By having the score in place beforehand, he says it helps him visualize, film, and edit the sequences with precise rhythm and impact. Known for editing his own films, this approach, he feels, will streamline his craft.
For Telugu cinema, and even Indian cinema at large, this is a novel experiment. With “Spirit,” Vanga is venturing into untested territory. The action drama will see Prabhas in the role of a cop.
There is also a strong buzz that Korean superstar Don Lee has given his nod to the project, though no official word has come out. Tripti Dimri has already been announced as the leading lady.
