The makers of “Srinivasa Mangapuram” have postponed the film’s release, which was originally scheduled for July 9. A new release date is yet to be announced.
The decision comes after Akhil Akkineni’s “Lenin” shifted its release from June 26 to July 10. To avoid a direct box-office clash with the more notable rural action drama, the makers of “Srinivasa Mangapuram” have opted to delay their film.
The team had already begun promotions by releasing the teaser and songs ahead of the planned release.
“Srinivasa Mangapuram” marks the acting debut of Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu. The film also introduces Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, to Telugu cinema.
Set in and around Tirupati, the action-romantic drama is directed by Ajay Bhupathi of “RX 100” fame, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
The makers are expected to announce the film’s revised release date soon.
