After the massive success of “Pushpa 2,” Sukumar has cemented his place as one of India’s top pan-Indian directors. He has been actively attending events across various film industries, including Bollywood and Kollywood.
At a recent awards event in Chennai, Sukumar was asked which Tamil actor he would choose for a larger-than-life film. Responding in Telugu, with SJ Suryah translating into Tamil, Sukumar said:
“Frankly speaking, I have watched very few of Vijay sir’s films. Likewise, I haven’t seen much of Ajith sir’s movies. But I love Karthi—his face speaks volumes. So, I would prefer him.”
Interestingly, SJ Suryah translated it in a way that made it seem like Sukumar would prefer Vijay, Ajith, and Karthi for a grand Tamil film.
Karthi has already made his mark in Telugu cinema with “Oopiri,” earning a massive following. Additionally, most of his Tamil films are dubbed in Telugu, making him more familiar to Telugu audiences compared to Vijay and Ajith, whose films don’t have the same level of reach in the Telugu market as Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
