Ghattamaneni Krishna, popularly known as Superstar Krishna, was cremated with full state honours this afternoon in Hyderabad. His son, actor Mahesh Babu, performed the last rites at the Maha Prasthanam in Hyderabad’s Film Nagar.
The Telangana government accorded full state honours for the funeral. Before the cremation, the national flag was draped over Krishna’s body, and a gun salute was fired.
The funeral was attended by bereaved family members.
Krishna died early Tuesday morning. The entire Tollywood industry paid their respects. Chief Ministers and other prominent politicians also paid their tributes. Krishna was 79. He had acted in over 360 films and produced many more.
After NTR and ANR, he was the Telugu film industry’s second generation superstar.
